Privacy Policy

Version 1.1-2026-09-22

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data Ultrasooq collects when you use our website, www.ultrasooq.com, and our mobile apps (together, the “Platform”), how we use it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the choices you have — including how to delete your account.

1. Who we are

Ultrasooq operates an online marketplace in the Sultanate of Oman where buyers, sellers, factories and freelancers trade goods and services. “We”, “us” and “our” mean Ultrasooq. You can contact us about privacy at support@ultrasooq.com.

2. What we collect

2.1 Information you give us

  • Account details — your name, email address, phone number, password (stored only as a one-way hash), account type, and preferences such as language and currency.
  • Business details — for seller, company and freelancer accounts: company name, address, phone number, website, tax number, branches, commercial registration and proof of address.
  • Identity verification — for accounts that must be verified: your Civil ID number, images of your ID card, and the details read from it, such as your name, nationality and date of birth.
  • Orders and addresses — what you buy or sell, delivery addresses, order history, returns, refunds and disputes.
  • Wallet and payouts — your wallet balance and transactions, and the bank details, such as your IBAN, that you give us for withdrawals.
  • Content you create — product and service listings, photos, videos, documents, reviews, questions and answers, community posts and comments, and requests for quotation.
  • Messages — chat messages between you and other users, and messages you send to our support team.

2.2 Information from your use of the Platform

  • Payments — card payments are handled by our payment service providers. We receive confirmation of each payment and limited details about it, but never your full card number.
  • Sign in with Google or Apple — if you choose it, we receive your name, email address and an identifier from that provider. Apple may give us a private relay address instead of your email.
  • Device and technical data — an identifier for your device (used, for example, to keep a guest shopping cart), your IP address, and server logs we keep for security and troubleshooting. We do not collect your device’s precise location.
  • Website usage — on the website we record how the Platform is used, such as pages viewed and actions taken, and where it is enabled we use Microsoft Clarity, which records sessions and produces heatmaps so we can find and fix problems. Our mobile apps contain no third-party analytics or advertising tools.

3. How we use it

  • to create and run your account and the accounts linked to it;
  • to list, sell and deliver goods and services, process payments, refunds and payouts, and handle disputes;
  • to verify identities and business details, and to prevent fraud, abuse and unlawful activity;
  • to let buyers and sellers communicate, and to provide customer support;
  • to keep the Platform safe — including automatically screening listings, reviews and messages for prohibited content, and acting on reports from users;
  • to translate listings and other content into your language;
  • to send you messages about your account and orders and — only if you have agreed — marketing emails, which you can stop at any time;
  • to understand how the Platform is used and improve it; and
  • to meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only as follows:

  • Other users — when you trade, the other party sees what they need to complete the order, such as your name, business name, delivery address and messages. Listings, reviews and community posts are public.
  • Service providers that process data for us under our instructions:
    • hosting and infrastructure — Railway and Cloudflare, including storage for the files you upload;
    • payments — AmwalPay and Paymob;
    • email delivery — Resend, Amazon Web Services and SendGrid;
    • sign-in — Google and Apple, if you choose them;
    • artificial intelligence — OpenRouter, which passes requests to the AI model providers it works with. We use it to check identity documents automatically, to translate content and to help sellers write listings. Our staff review identity checks when needed;
    • website analytics — Microsoft Clarity, where enabled.
  • Authorities and advisers — where the law requires it, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with legal claims.
  • A new owner — if Ultrasooq’s business is sold or reorganised, under the same protections as this policy.

5. International transfers

Some of our service providers process data outside the Sultanate of Oman. When they do, we rely on their contractual commitments to protect it.

6. How long we keep it

We keep your personal data while your account is open. When you delete your account we erase it, except for records we must keep by law — such as orders, invoices, payments and disputes — which we keep for as long as the law requires. Server logs are kept for a limited time, for security.

7. Deleting your account

You can delete your account yourself at any time:

We close your account straight away and sign you out everywhere. If nothing is outstanding, we erase your personal data at the same time. If you still have orders, refunds, disputes, withdrawals or wallet money in progress, we erase it once they are complete — usually within a day of the last one — and email you when it is done. Deleting your account also deletes the accounts linked to it and removes your listings, and members of your team lose access. You can also ask us to delete your account by writing to support@ultrasooq.com.

8. Your rights and choices

You can see and correct most of your details in your account settings. You can also ask us for a copy of your personal data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to how we use it, or withdraw consent you have given — for example to marketing emails, which you can also stop with the unsubscribe link in any marketing email. Where the Personal Data Protection Law of the Sultanate of Oman applies, you have the rights it gives you. Write to support@ultrasooq.com and we will respond within the time the law requires.

9. Security

We protect data in transit with encryption (HTTPS), store passwords only as one-way hashes, and keep identity documents in private storage that can only be opened through short-lived links. No system is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and will tell you about a breach where the law requires.

10. Children

The Platform is not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar storage to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, keep your cart and — on the website — measure use as described in section 2.2. You can block cookies in your browser, but parts of the Platform may not work without them.

12. Changes to this policy

When we change this policy we publish the new version here with a new version label, and when a change is significant we tell you before it applies.
